5: The Restaurant
You arrive at the restaurant and Layla isn’t there. In fact, the whole place is empty of customers which is very strange for such a popular place.
The waiter shows you to a table and you order a drink.
You stare at the door nervously.
5 minutes go by.
10 minutes go by.
20 minutes go by.
Then, after half an hour your heart sinks.
Just as you debate all the possibilities, the waiter approaches you and begs forgiveness but he forgot.
“Forgot what?” you reply.
“A young woman called Layla gave me a note to give to you. Or…a person that matched your description, anyway. Are you waiting for Layla?”
“Yes.”
He apologizes once more and hands you the note.
