Day 3: True Feminization 3… A midweek note to my favorite student!

Transition in Spain by Elle

OK chica,

You are free to write to me, but I’m not going to be sending you anything more for 7 days. Why? Because no serious person can instigate all of the projects on this page in less than a week. So get your head down and start working. Here are your 4 tasks.

It’s amazing how many people begin with high, convoluted ideas about transition: philosophical, medical or fantastical. None of them are going to work without financial security and accommodation security. No money, no transition. It’s as simple as that.

What’s rad about the Transition Fund tracker in version 3.0? You now have a complete, dedicated blog about cheap property around the world, high-paying jobs which don’t necessarily require years of studying, side hustles and all sorts of tricks and tips. It’s called The Hustle. So visit the Wealth tracker and start tracking, and visit the link underneath to the blog.

Task 1: investigate three jobs you had previously discounted, and discover that maybe you could do them after all.

You’ve spent the last 24 hours thinking about which vice we’re going to work on, so let’s get to work. As you know, the slogan of this course is Be Someone New, and I can assure you that you’re not going to be someone new if you’re bringing your old addictions and bad habits with you.

What’s rad about Vice Tracker 3.0 is that it doesn’t try to do too much. It doesn’t contain any platitudes. It just contains the stark statistical data about the frequency and degree at which the vice is occurring. Sometimes just seeing it laid out on a 90-day calendar, exactly what’s been happening with you and your particular habit, is enormously instructive.

Task 2: plan for day one of the blitz on your addiction or bad habit. Read my article on the blog and make all the preparations.

I cannot tell you how much my enmity towards social media and Silicon Valley has grown since you were last on these pages. What they have done to our planet’s information system, to politics and to cognitive function is, quite frankly, criminal. To me, the single most accessible and effective remedy you have against the war on your attention, your intelligence and your bank balance is good old-fashioned reading.

What’s rad about Reading Tracker 3.0 is that if, for example, you’re reading one of the books you’ve already seen on my blog, you can leave a comment and we can talk about the book, and nobody else can read the comment or my reply. In fact, throughout the whole site you have complete privacy to comment: it’s a platform for just me and you. This also extends to blog posts. You can blog too, and publish your posts either privately between me and you, or for everybody.

Task 3: go for a day out to a bookstore. Don’t go to Amazon. Buy a fiction and a non-fiction book. Do some research first: don’t buy anything too highbrow, and make sure it’s compelling reading.

Fitness and nutrition: sorry, but there is just no explanation needed here.

Now we have a system where we can both see the data. In previous versions I basically had to take your word for it; now I can monitor your literal ups and downs, slips and successes. But don’t forget, excessive pressure to lose weight can be unhealthy, so if you feel it’s getting a bit too much, all you have to do is ask for a time out and we’ll give it a rest.

Task 4: buy the most beautiful gym outfit you can find. Stylish, slick, the kind that just makes you want to be out and about doing sport.
