Is autogynephilia real? Yes… but…

Autogynephilia

The podcast… The video…   Yes, autogynephilia is real. It’s a thing. It exists. But acknowledging its existence doesn’t mean we rush off to award Raymond Blanchard a Nobel Prize or treat the concept as the final word on the phenomenon (and certainly not on gender identity and transition.) Understanding AGP requires context, caution, and nuance—hence the Three Laws of Autogynephilia: The Three Laws of Autogynephilia LAW 1: Just because the sexuality described by the term “autogynephilia” exists doesn’t mean it’s the best or most appropriate label to use. My mate Trevor might argue that Welsh people should be called “sheep sha**ers,” but most would (rightfully) quibble with his term. Even if he Latinizes it to amatores ovium, it doesn’t suddenly make the label acceptable. The term “autogynephilia” may align with conventions for naming sexual preferences, but this doesn’t make it immune to critique or misuse. Some might consider this…

The autogynephilia virus is spreading…

Autogynephilia

In what sense is AGP a virus? Excuse the clickbait title, but I thought it would be interesting because I knew that there would be three interpretations by visitors of this site… 1) Those who believe that the concept of autogynephilia is bogus, transphobic and toxic… and so see any advance in awareness of the theory as a spreading malignancy. 2) Transphobes and radical feminists who see AGP as a dark truth behind all things transgender and believe it is some menacing threat spreading through society. The idea that – like reds under the bed or a fifth column – there is a growing army of crossdreamers infiltrating all levels of society. 3) And this is the one I fall into: the belief that perhaps the actual thing – autogynephilia (whatever it is) is actually increasing in prevalence in the male population. This, however, is probably just because a lot…

Crossdreamers.com: review and link 5/5

Resources

Jack Molay was one of the first people online to talk about what he now refers to as ‘crossdreaming’  – the term which he came up with once he was exposed to the anti-autogynephilia discourse. Although it’s now lapsed more into a transgender site (feel free to correct this, Jack if you think that’s unfair), it’s extensive library of past articles make it a highly useful resource. It also has a forum and community attached to it, and Jack s a very very nice person. Here you have the links https://www.crossdreamers.com/ https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/crossdreamlife/ https://www.reddit.com/r/crossdreaming/ Jack and I used to share very similar opinions on all issues relating to autogynephilia, but in the end I found myself finding Blanchard’s conceptual framework to still have some purpose. I also became increasingly disillusioned with the trans narrative and community and thus we moved away from eachother.

It’s important to think about the wife’s perspective, even if you don’t agree with it

Autogynephilia

I found the above talk to be very interesting because it really showed the two sides of gender awakening. As the husband discovered his true gender it must have been a whirlwind of emotions and an epiphany, but the very same experience is viewed by her as a slide into nightmare. One tantalizing aspect of the video is that she mentions porn couple of times and I would have liked to have known more about that. She did not mention the A word but one suspects that it’s lurking somewhere there in the background. Her concluding argument is that transition was not an appropriate treatment for her husband’s condition because transition seemed to make him less happy than he was before when he was male. It would be very very interesting to hear the husband giving his version of the story.

Is it post orgasmic clarity (PNC) or post orgasmic depression?

Autogynephilia

Intro… When someone is an advocate of the autogynephiliac narrative, they always tend to place great credence and authority in the refractory period or – post nut clarity – as they call it on Reddit (how is it that they just always come up with the most horrible terms ever on Reddit 😅). The basic Vibe of yeah above which follows this idea is that… this is your true self. That maniacal, euphoric fantasist of a moment ago has been derobed dethroned and despoiled and now you lie in your reality. Still want to be a woman now? However, that seems a little bit like taking a depressed person and telling them that this is their true self. All that silliness going around smiling in the office and having fun and being happy, that was all an illusion and this now is the real you. Take into account what happens…

What causes paraphilias? A quick and dirty theory…

Sexology

Today I’d like to propose a theory about the origins and causes of paraphilias. I call it ‘quick and dirty’ because it deals with concepts which will be impossible to verify until we have a complete understanding of the human brain i.e. NEVER. Therefore, this theory is speculative – the sexological equivalent of bar room philosophy. (Quick note: fetishes are not paraphilias. A fetish is a sexual interest that develops later in sexual development by classic conditioning, imprinting or association. My definition of paraphilia is a sexual orientation that is not hetero, homo or bi. More of that later!) My theory on the causes of paraphilias To understand my theory you need to begin with a question: What can we learn from the established list of paraphilias? Are there any common features which call your attention? Look at some examples… Coprophilia Shit Dacryphilia Tears or crying Dendrophilia Trees Emetophilia Vomit Eproctophilia Flatulence…

How other forms of autosexuality such as apotemnophilia add credibility to the theory of autogynephilia

Autogynephilia

Autogynophilia is not the only sexual preference which involves the ‘love of oneself as’. Indeed, as Blanchard himself noted there are a number of sexual behaviors in which rather than desire a sexual target, the subject desires to be the target. The existence of such sexualities is for me, one of the most convincing proofs that autogynophilia is a real distinct sexual phenomena and not just nature’s unintended consequence of being transgender. This post, which I wrote sometime ago, is about one of those sexualities, and one of its most interesting aspects is the way in which it’s subject experiences the need to be what he desires in order to feel complete in terms of identity.   TRIGGER ALERT: Don’t read this article if you hate the paraphilia discourse. The mission of this site is to explore all aspects of gender variance. But you don’t have to! You can pick…

What is trans-scepticism? A natural reaction to the dogma of trans-fundamentalism

Transgender

What is trans-scepticism? Trans-scepticism is the natural reaction of anybody with half a brain to the incoherence and dogma of contemporary transgender theory. It does not mean that you are transphobic. Personally, I am a trans-sceptic and I would take up arms to defend the trans community, but I’m also not prepared to take any crap from the twitter brigade or the trans thought-police. In my experience, trans-scepticism involves a fundamental acceptance of transgender people and transgender rights, but a series of doubts about certain ideas that dominate trans theory. For example… 1. A solid rejection of the idea that there are 453 genders (demi-gendered, aporagender, poly gender etc.) 2. Uncertainty about the efficacy of transition as a treatment for gender dysphoria (while accepting the right to transition.) 3. The suspicion that while hormones may be the perfect treatment for some, they may also turn transition into a self fulfilling…

Is a Transgender Woman a Woman?

Transgender

You will be pleased to know that there is a simple method for answering the question asked in the title of this book. We define what a woman is, and then see if a transgender woman matches that definition. But you might not be so pleased when you find out that defining ‘woman’ immediately gets us in a debate which involves both the philosophy of language and science. On one hand we have conservatives who claim that the word ‘woman’ refers to a set of rigid, biologically defined characteristics involving chromosomes, genitalia and anatomy, and that this definition cannot be changed. They see the definition of the word as set in stone and defined by nature – immutable and unchanging. For them, a transgender woman clearly does not comply with this definition and thus it is incorrect to use the word ‘woman’ to refer to her. While liberals agree…

Is being transgender a mental illness?

How to Beat Gender Dysphoria

INTRODUCTION Today I would like to tell you about something I’ve never really shared before: that sometimes I see being transgender as a mental illness. Not only that, but I find the mental illness narrative to be a useful coping mechanism for a non transitioner. It helps me to beat my gender dyasphoria. Before I go any further, I will remind you of Conrad’s five principles of gender variance: number 1… 1. Don’t project your own narrative of gender variance on to everyone else in the transgender community. Therefore, although I sometimes find it useful to think of my condition as mental illness, I don’t think that the transgender condition is a prima facie mental illness. As ever, mine is a subjective narrative (a biological male with a history of crossdreaming and gender dysphoria who chooses not to transition) chosen by me. I’m not suggesting you or anyone else follow it. So, with that…
