Having written two books with sometimes opposing ideas and a whole range of articles under different names, I would like to share a concise opinion of my current views on all things transgender. Most of it’s…common sense. Why do I see myself as a woman in my sexual fantasies and why is my gender identity blurred or contrary? We cannot answer questions about sexual identity with even the slightest certainty. Scientists do not yet understand the causes of homosexuality, so called ‘fetishes,’ or so called ‘paraphilias,’ so how do you expect them to explain gender-variant sexuality? In fact, we all take heterosexuality for granted but there are still fundamental questions that need to be answered about that! As a culture we are accustomed to the wonders of science and ‘knowing stuff,’ meaning we forget that there are many aspects of the human brain that are beyond the reach of contemporary…

8. Forced feminization and transgender sexuality

Forced feminisation is forced upon us Of all the fantasies experienced by some transgender people (pre-transition) the most difficult to understand is forced feminisation. In these fantasies the crossdreamer is forced by a dominant man or woman to dress/behave like a female and perform sex acts.   But of course, it’s only hard to understand if you think that the sexuality of a transwoman must be like that of a ciswoman to be considered authentic. Trans critics love to leap on forced fem with the familiar charge ‘a real woman wouldn’t fantasize about being feminised.’ To which I reply ‘Obviously … that’s because a ‘real’ woman has already been feminised by biology.’ As stated ad nauseum… the trans-female sexuality lies buried beneath a mound of male anatomy, socialisation, and in many cases, the belief that crossdreaming fantasies are not a key to their true identity – but a key to…

Conclusion There are various transphobic groups that will always obsess over the minutiae of transgender fantasy… looking for differences between them and the fantasies of a ‘real woman’. And guess what… they’ll find them… because they exist. Far from indicating  anomaly and invalidation, however, such differences are to be expected. Our sexual experiences have to pass through a mass of male neurology, anatomy and endocrinology, as well as socialisation as a male (that included being told that dressing and behaving like a girl was not correct)… is it any wonder that the resulting sexuality is different? However, putting aside specific fantasies of pre-transition sexuality, there is a wider feeling that the existence of any type of sexual arousal with respect to being a woman invalidates a claim to be transgender. First, let’s do a test that explores the dichotomy of fetish versus transgender. The Context Every week, a teenager or twenty-something posts on Reddit about how wearing women’s clothes and imagining they have a female body really turns them on, and that, in fact, their entire sexuality is based on cross gender fantasies. Now, they’re considering transition, but can’t help think that maybe the whole thing is just a fetish because they get off on stuff like sissy hypno. This feeling is amplified by two factors… 1. Post orgasmic guilt/relief from the desire to present as female. 2. Although they would prefer to be a girl, they don’t mind so much being boys. Is it selfish for a transgender father to transition?

SCENARIO: A middle-aged father announces to his three children (all under 16) that he’s going to transition. Is this a selfish act that violates the parent-child contract? The first thing we need to establish when answering this question is – what tends to be the effect on children when a father transitions to female? There will be trans activists who claim that transition within families goes swimmingly… and trans-critics who claim the whole episode fucks children up permanently and traumatizes them. QUICK ASIDE: One difficult dimension is normalization. We could find many cases where ‘in the end’ the children adapted. However, in the end, children can adapt to child labour and child armies. If the children have to live with a transitioned father then they will end up seeing it as normal. This does not mean that it hasn’t had a damaging effect.
